Beer of the Week: Red Stripe Lager

Jamaica The nice lager beer is probably the most famous in the Caribbean. Her plump figure bottle and shield that resembles the River Plate Club shirt is all a registered trademark. This beer has been achieved fame thanks to an aggressive export strategy and a very nice advertising campaign that has given a beer friendly image. The truth is that this beer has grown and its reputation gained ground little by little, to the extent that even President Obama has served its guests in the White House. is a beer that, while not outstanding in any section, reliable, sober and refreshing.

lager Red Stripe is a classic and friendly. Deep golden color, little foam retention and average crystal clear, his appearance certainly invited to refresh your thirst. Beer is not a particularly remarkable sense of smell, however there is a faint presence of spicy hops and sweet malts. It's a very nice tasting beer with a very mild sweet malt presence and a welcoming bitterness level provided so I guess a good dose of hops to give a feeling of freshness in the final shot. It is a beer with good body, balanced carbonation semi dry palate knows yet cool. A proper beer, reliable and certainly very well be combined with those spicy Caribbean food and climate of the tropics.

My rating: 6.8
